In Fall 2023, I had the privilege of serving as the Interim CEO of JFL. By April 2024, this role became permanent, and with the help of our Board, we faced the significant challenge of setting the course for JFL while navigating serious financial difficulties. Over the past year, we witnessed God’s presence at every turn. Our generous past and new donors, sacrificially contributed to the work and ministry of JFL.
We successfully launched new sites in Texas, Washington, Tennessee, Georgia, Raleigh, NC, and more. Additionally, we welcomed back sites that had closed due to COVID-19. More importantly, I witnessed the transformation in the lives of our students—ranging from single mothers striving to make ends meet to young people seeking a second chance.
I heard inspiring stories from volunteers who thought they would change the lives of others, only to find that they themselves were transformed through their service. I spoke with individuals who have a vision to transform their communities and are developing new JFL sites for 2025. Some are working to address the challenges faced by kids at risk of gang involvement, while others are supporting families living in poverty who have turned food banks into their grocery stores.
We could not have accomplished any of this without you—our sites, volunteers, and donors. You have sown seeds of your time, talent, and treasure, which have borne fruit in the Kingdom of God. People across the country are restoring their relationships with God, their communities, their sense of purpose in work, and their self-identity as valuable individuals.
Thank you for being co-laborers in this important work with us.
